SOUNDSCAPES
Students in the Fall 2023 Energy Afterlives 360 chose places on Bryn Mawr's campus, then sat there for 20 minutes, recording soundscapes. They recorded the soundscapes physically, by marking categories on paper, instead of mechanically with a recorder. They then took their paper records, and digitized them, creating streamgraph visualizations of their auditory experience at the site.
We repeated this process at places in Sitka and Juneau, Alaska, in October 2023.
